The modern fiction in Sanskrit seems a contradiction! I have tried to maintain through my humble effort that Sanskrit is still a living medium of expression as it reflects the social situations in the present perspective.
The Aparajita depicts a struggling woman who comes out victorious against all the odds of life. The Kulina shows a silently suffering woman who accepts her fate in a complex household. The Sankhanadah brings out a deprived 36 NAG PRAKASHAN woman who suffered in childhood and youth and was aroused by the inner conscience to take up challenges of life all alone. The Anugrihita portrays a poor village belle who somehow saves herself from being exploited by a village headman’s rustic son and is grateful for a young doctor who is prepared to marry her. The Vatayanam shows a young woman who is heated by her lover and has to bring their son all alone. The Jagaritah depicts a life of poverty and ignorance of the construction laborers and a stroke of bad luck in the family. The Ekonyah Sivih shows the spirit of goodwill and sacrifice of the two friends and how they save each other at the time of disaster.
