This volume has been prepared in honor of Prof. R. K. Sharma. I was given the honor to plan and edit it which I readily accepted with great pleasure. It was also decided that the volume should be exclusively devoted to the theme "Mahabharata".
The volume was planned to search new problems, topics, fresh interpretations and theories including refutations in the light of fresh facts in the main and allied fields. Various fields of interpretation including the evaluation of the commentators were incorporated in the volume. Archaeological, psychological, historical, and biographical, criticism etc. were the new fields of the collection. Study of the variants of his works with application of the principles of linguistics and higher criticism with a fresh approach is another feature of this work
